About us

The North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) is situated in a picturesque location of Aalo, an emerging hub of education and the headquarters of West Siang, a hilly and green district of Arunachal Pradesh. NEFTU is the earnest endeavour by a group of visionaries and educationists. It is a State Private University established under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, well versed to facilitate the students with quality education and higher study programs of national and international standards.
NEFTU has been established by Act 11 of 2014 of State Legislature, Arunachal Pradesh, as the first Private Technical University of the State. Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state (area wise) in the North-East region, considered to be the nature’s treasure of trove and home to more than six hundred species of orchids and exquisite blooms which are found in varied elevations and climatic conditions all over the state. Also, His Excellency Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is the Visitor of the University campus whenever he gets some leisure time.
NEFTU is sponsored by the Automobile Society of India, a registered charitable trust. The trust has been successfully running various institutions in the disciplines of Automobile Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
NEFTU has got NOC from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and approvals from various educational councils such as the Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Additionally, it runs courses of Agriculture Research (ICAR). The University offers various courses in Engineering and Technology, Arts and Humanities, Law, Education and Pharmacy.

Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of this institution which follows the spirit of the act are framed below-

  • To provide instructions in emerging areas of the higher education and to make provisions for quality research and advancements as well as dissemination of knowledge and skills.
  • To nourish, nurture and promote holistic higher education with focus on professional and skill based education.
  • To promote research based degree programmes of international norms and standards.
  • To organize National and International Seminars and Conferences.
  • To enhance the potential of information and technology, communication, web and tele conference, mobile technology as well as satellite technology to ensure and satisfy the local and social educational needs.
  • To offer both face to face and distance learning opportunities to the learners.
  • To collaborate with international universities, institutes of national importance, industry, research and development centres for the betterment in quality of education provided to the students.
